File Manger - Version 2.01 Launched

Lonex Web Hosting is happy to announce that a new update has been performed to our in-house developed File Manager software - version 2.01 has been launched online! The new substantially updated file management tool boasts enhanced functionality and handy features introduced.

Version 2.0 of our advanced software was launched several months ago and quickly brought positive feedback from our customers and interesting suggestions on its further development. Considering our customers' requirements and ideas, we put all our efforts to work out the next stages in its development. We hope that the new version 2.01 will bring higher facilitation and navigational ease in the management of your files and folders. We are always looking forward to receiving your unique views on our software releases as they are those that are taking us forward.

Let's review now the new functionalities featuring in version 2.01:

1. On the file/folder tooltips (that you can open clicking on a file name/or a folder type icon), the 'Download' and 'Open' options are presented separately. (Previously, they were featured as one Open/Download activity).

2. 'Download' buttons have been added to the up and down Actions toolbars. The new action enables you to select multiple files for download. The chosen items are automatically generated in a .ZIP archive and downloaded to your PC.

3. Folders are also allowed for download now. The folders download is based on the same principle as the multiple files download.

4. Archive/ZIP folder option is also available in this File Manager version. It makes a .ZIP file from the selected directory and saves the archive on the server.

5. Each file/folder information field is featuring a new type icon now. By clicking on it, you can gain access to the permissions set for the specific directory location and make any desired changes.

6. 'Enter Custom Path' - a new field that allows users to input the name of a directory that they wish to see listed in the File Manager's File Listing Panel. This option has a primarily time-saving functionality, as it gives you the opportunity to open directory locations that are well-known to you without having to browse to those destinations folder by folder.

7. 'Quick Links Path' - you have the possibility now to view the name of a not fully displayed directory path in this field by simply mousing over it.

8. This tooltip function is also operational in the File Listing Panel. You need to only mouse over a file/folder (not fully displayed) to see its entire name.

9. Another new option has been added into the File Listing Panel's functionality, giving you the possibility to view your files and folders listed by Name and Size. Important: By Name can be listed all files and folders, while the Size option is available only for the files' list.

10. The Plain Text Editor of the File Manager has also undergone a substantial update. Many fixes have been performed to improve its functioning. New features have been introduced, as well:

• 'GO TO LINE' field - this is a new field wherein users can type a number of a line that they need to edit and then, by pressing the 'Enter' key, move directly to it (for example, in cases such as "syntax/fatal error on line 54").
• Up until now, the saving and closing the window actions were performed by one button - 'Save'. With this update, a new button was added - 'Apply Changes', which will do only the saving/applying the last changes part, while another one - 'Save And Close', will be confirming the saving process and closing the window.
• Saving with Ctrl+S key combination is also available in this File Manager version.
• Last but not less important, support for syntax check of the PHP code has been added, as well.
